So, I'm guessing you're wondering what the devil all this is about then? Well, just you let me tell you!
My name's Lindsay. Once upon a time (well, from January 2004 - June 2005), I had a column in Scotland's Daily Record. It was the biggest selling tabloid in the country at the time, I'll have you know! The column was, basically, my diary. So that's why BeautifulSimplicity.net exists - to carry on my ridiculous life story. I don't think anyone knows it exists though...
So that's why I'm here! I like talking about myself basically. I'll give you the rest in handy fact form...
Name: Lindsay Cochrane
Age: 19, and absolutely distraught at the fact that I'll be 20 in May!
From: Airdrie, aka Scumsville! A little town in North Lanarkshire which is the butt of many, many jokes. It's a shame really, it's not all that bad!
Occupation: I'm a student. I'm in first year at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, and I'm studying - surprise, surprise - journalism and creative writing! At weekends, I'm a sales assistant.
A Brief History: There's not really much to say to be honest. Born, raised and educated in Airdrie, I became the youngest columnist in Scotland at 16. I got myself a bunch of Highers at school. I then left school, my column ended, and then I got diagnosed with Crohn's disease - that's an inflammatory bowel disease. It's not very nice. I'm on a whole heap of medication for it. I started studying at Glasgow University, only to suffer a massive Crohn's flare up, resulting in my second hospital stay of 2005. So I dropped out of Glasgow - I wasn't enjoying it anyway, to be honest. In February 2006, I was operated on and since then, my Crohn's hasn't bothered me at all - I still like to talk about my bowel, though. I'm vile that way. After a full recovery, I got a part-time job in a certain accessory shop in Glasgow, secured myself a place at Strathclyde and the rest is, as they say, history!
My favourite things: I am almost a cliché of the female teenage form in this respect. I love, love, love my family - they are so amazing, I honestly couldn't cope without them! Similarly, I adore my fabulous friends. Old and new, they are super. I like boys (most of the time). Shoes. Going to the cinema. Drinking silly cocktails. Sex and The City. Dawson's Creek. Hollyoaks. Shopping. Music. Boybands in particular! Writing. Reading. Dancing like a woman possessed. My iPod. George Clooney, Luka from ER, Aidan in Sex and the City, all of McFly, Charlie Simpson of Busted fame and most of the men in Lost. Despite moaning about it, I love the old dating game too. Make up. Sunshine. Sandy beaches. Accessories. And I am quite the MySpace addict - it's shameful.
Things I don't love quite so much: Boys who just MESS WITH YOUR HEAD. Little girls at concerts who try to flatten you. Sore tummies. Internet Explorer. Moths. Daddy long legseseses. My hair going mental in the rain! Pervy old men. Tourists. People playing bagpipes in the street - it only encourages tourists.
What I listen to: My taste in music is dreadful. I like McFly, Matt Willis and Busted (R.I.P) - and I'm not afraid to admit it! However, I don't just stop there! Snow Patrol, The View, The Killers, The Sunshine Underground, Feeder, The Fratellis, Paolo Nutini, Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly, Stereophonics, Arctic Monkeys, Goo Goo Doll... And especially any cheesy crap I can dance about to like a loon when drunk. Not that that happens often. Ahem.
Heroes: Sarah Jessica Parker. JK Rowling. Bridget Jones. And of course my wee maw - she's a tough cookie. And she looked after me when I was sick - you've no idea how much I appreciate that.
Ambitions: I have a LOT of these. I want to travel the world. I want to meet Mickey Mouse. I want to kiss someone famous! I want to own a pair of Jimmy Choos. I want a fabulous job at a fabulous magazine - possibly Heat. I want to get a book published. I want to get married and have babies. I want to have a home in the South of France. But generally? I just want to be happy and successful. Can I do it? Well, I guess you'll just have to keep reading here to see...
